The race was held on the well known âśRainbowâť Track in Glostrup in Denmark, the EC championship track from 2005. There were 17 SuperStock drivers and 9 Modified drivers and this report follows new young Team XRAY driver Nicolai Lindegaard (16 yo) with his XRAY T3`11/ Corally13,5T red-line engine powered car.
On Saturday we made some very small set-up changes. We have tested a lot the weeks leading up to this race and the car was fast, smooth, and easy to drive. Grip wasnâ™t very high but we didnâ™t change a lot of the set-up because we expected more grip on race day. The track is very nice with a very good flow so we were very excited for Sundayâ™s race.
On Sunday morning we had 2 practice sessions just to see if everything was ready for the day, and it was. Our qualifying and finals in Denmark this year are 7 minutes long, so we had to take care of the tires for the whole race. In the first qualifier it was Nicolai and one of the local team drivers, Soren B. Holst, making the pace with Soren being the best in Q1. In Q2, Nicolai was very fast and set the best lap time of the day. In Q3, no-one got any faster so Nicolai got his first TQ!

The first A-Final was very fast. Soren passed Nicolai in the first corner and with a small mistake from Nicolai, Soren took the first final. In the second final Soren had a small technical problem so Nicolai took the victory. In the third final, Nicolai was setting the pace right from the start to the absolutely last lap, making very few mistakes and letting Soren passâ¦.but the young man kept his cool and with only half a lap left Soren opened the door a bit too much and Nicolai passed him on the inside to wint the final and take the overall win. It was a very exciting and fair race for all three 7min finals.
